YouTube Thumbnail Resizer

01

Resize without guessing

ThumbPull keeps familiar 1280 × 720 output available for compatibility and lets you enter any custom pixel size. You can also use inches, centimetres, millimetres, percentage and DPI from More Options.

When the source does not match the target ratio, Fill covers the frame, Fit preserves the whole image, Crop lets you frame it manually, and Stretch forces the exact dimensions.

02

Current YouTube guidance

YouTube's current help documentation recommends uploading video thumbnails as large as possible and lists 3840 × 2160 for videos with a 16:9 aspect ratio. The public thumbnail file you download from a YouTube video is a different thing: MAX RES from the public thumbnail CDN is commonly 1280 × 720. ThumbPull keeps those two workflows separate so a downloaded thumbnail is not mislabeled as a 4K source.

FAQ / PRACTICAL ANSWERS

NO MYSTERY CONTROLS.

Can I resize to 3840 × 2160?

Yes. Enter 3840 × 2160 in the custom dimensions. The result can only be as detailed as the source image, so enlarging a smaller file does not create new detail.

Does ThumbPull upload my image?

Normal resize, crop, compress, convert and batch work is processed in the browser. Pulling a public YouTube thumbnail requires requesting that public image from YouTube.

Do I need an account?

No. The core thumbnail and image tools are designed to work without creating an account.
