01

Design for device cropping

YouTube currently recommends 2560 × 1440 for channel banners and lists 2048 × 1152 as the minimum upload size. Because the banner is cropped differently across screens, important text and logos should stay close to the centre rather than the outer edges.

ThumbPull opens the 2560 × 1440 preset immediately. Use Fit when the entire source must remain visible, Fill when edge trimming is acceptable, or Crop when you want to choose the composition yourself.

02

Keep the export practical

YouTube documents a 6 MB maximum for banner images. The banner preset keeps JPG available for photographic artwork, while More Options lets you change format, quality or exact dimensions if your source needs a different workflow.

FAQ / PRACTICAL ANSWERS

NO MYSTERY CONTROLS.

Is 2560 × 1440 the recommended YouTube banner size?

Yes. YouTube currently recommends 2560 × 1440 and lists 2048 × 1152 as the minimum upload size. The visible crop still varies by device, so keep important content away from the outer edges.

Does ThumbPull upload my image?

Normal resize, crop, compress, convert and batch work is processed in the browser. Pulling a public YouTube thumbnail requires requesting that public image from YouTube.

Do I need an account?

No. The core thumbnail and image tools are designed to work without creating an account.
