GUIDE / THUMBPULL

YouTube Image Sizes

YouTube creator artwork uses several shapes, so one source image often needs more than one crop. ThumbPull keeps the common working canvases in one preset system.

Use the preset that matches the placement

ThumbPull includes working presets for Thumbnail 1280 × 720, Banner 2560 × 1440, Shorts 1080 × 1920, Profile 800 × 800, Post 1080 × 1080 and Watermark 150 × 150. These presets are intended as fast production canvases, while exact platform recommendations can change over time.

Choose the target first, then use Fill, Fit or the visual Crop editor. A wide thumbnail and a vertical Shorts image usually need different framing even when they come from the same artwork.

Keep upload guidance separate from downloaded thumbnail files

A thumbnail pulled from an existing YouTube video is a public CDN file, while a thumbnail you are preparing for a new upload is your own source asset. Do not treat those two workflows as the same resolution claim. Use the largest clean source available for new artwork and resize only when the target requires it.
