GUIDE / THUMBPULL
Why Your YouTube Thumbnail Looks Blurry
Blurry thumbnails usually come from the source, repeated compression, aggressive resizing or a design that collapses at small display sizes.
Start with the source
Upscaling increases pixel dimensions but cannot recreate detail that was never present. Start from the largest clean source, avoid repeated exports, and resize once near the end of the workflow.
JPG can be efficient for photographs but may smear thin text when quality is pushed too low. PNG preserves hard graphic edges but can be larger. WebP is often a useful balance. Use ThumbPull's small preview to judge the design at the size viewers will actually see it.
